Lesson 2.4: Text Effects

   

 

In addition to changing the font type, size, style, and colour, there are some other effects we can add to text. These include:

 

-          Different styles and colours of underline

-          Effects like strikethrough, shadow, outline, and emboss

-          Drop caps

-          Various font cases

 

Don’t forget that you can use formatting in one of two ways. You can type text, then select it and apply formatting. Or, you can set your formatting first, then type your text, and then turn the formatting off. As well, formatting can be applied to a letter, word, phrase, paragraph, or any combination of those elements. You can even apply formatting to a whole document; remember that you can select all by pressing Ctrl + A.

Also remember that you can combine various formatting elements to make your document unique!
