SECTION 2
Lesson 2.2: Moving Text

There are a number of ways you can remove text from your document.

-          You can cut text; although it will no longer appear in your document, it will be stored on the clipboard.

-          You can also use the Backspace key to remove items to the left of your cursor, or use the Delete key to remove items to the right of your cursor.

-          You can also select a portion of text (a letter, word, phrase, paragraph, page, or document, or a combination of items) and press Delete or Backspace to delete that text. (After you’ve selected the text, you can also start typing. The selected text will vanish and your new text will appear in its place.)

-          Don’t forget you can turn on overtype by pressing the Insert key so that any text you type will overwrite text in front of it.
